5 Ways Google Workspace Can Help Your Art Business (And Keep You Sane!)

Updated: Apr 8

There are a few different tools I use to stay organised, but the one I could not live without is Google Workspace. Let me tell you about the magic that is Google Workspace! Google Workspace is a cloud-based productivity suite. It's like having a trusty sidekick for your art business - always there to help you communicate, collaborate, and get things done no matter where you are or what device you're using. It's super simple to set up and use, so you can spend more time on the important stuff - like creating amazing art!

First off, let's talk about Google Drive. You know that feeling when you can't find that one super important file you need for a project? With Google Drive, you can store all your artwork, project files and important docs in one safe place, and access them from anywhere, on any device. Plus, you can collaborate with other artists or clients in real-time and share files with just a few clicks. And if you use Google Drive for Desktop, you can sync your files between your desktop and the cloud.

Next up, we've got Google Meet. As artists, we know the importance of collaboration, but sometimes meeting up in person just isn't possible. That's where Google Meet comes in! You can video chat with clients, collaborators, and other artists from anywhere in the world, and even record meetings for future reference that will automatically save in Google Drive**. You can also set up an appointment schedule to allow others to book appointments with you, which automatically has Google Meet integrated in them**.

Now, let's talk about Google Tasks. This tool is a game changer for staying organised and on top of your to-do list. You can create tasks for each project, set due dates and reminders, and even break down tasks into smaller sub-tasks. And the best part? You can access your tasks from anywhere and easily check them off as you complete them, plus they also show up in your Google Calendar.

Moving on, we've got Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. I don't know about you, but I used to dread the thought of writing artist statements, project proposals, contracts, creating presentations and crunching numbers. You can create and edit them with ease, track changes and collaborate with others in real-time as well as the ability to work offline or download them in a variety of formats!

Last but not least, let's talk about Google Forms. This tool is perfect for getting feedback from clients, customers, or fans. You can create custom surveys, quizzes, and questionnaires, and even embed them on your website or social media pages.

And as a bonus, Google Workspace even includes a custom email that reflects your business name e.g. you@yourcompany.com! It's super easy to create and manage your email through Gmail, which is part of the Google Workspace suite.
